O/E Acquires National Work Life Services Provider
Troy, MI, February 14, 2006 – O/E Learning, Inc., a full-service training, communications, and performance improvement organization announced that on January 31, 2006, it acquired FamilyCare, a national Work Life Resource and Referral Company based in Pleasanton, CA. The acquisition resulted in the creation of a new entity, O/E FamilyCare LLC.
The recent spike in the demand for family services has made many companies aware of the need to provide their employees with the appropriate resources for dealing with family and personal issues. This demand was the driving force behind O/E’s acquisition.
“The acquisition of FamilyCare really made sense as part of O/E's growth strategy,” relates O/E FamilyCare President, Sue Blaisdell. “Our two companies just clicked,” said Cathy Leibow, who founded FamilyCare 18 years ago. “We are looking forward to growing our new subsidiary together,” said Leibow who will stay on as Vice-President and will direct the Pleasanton operations.
Both stated that their combined customer service strengths, skills, and technology will result in an expanded offering for existing as well as future customers. The acquisition enables O/E to add new Work Life programs for their client base and provides FamilyCare with enhanced technology and a larger infrastructure to better meet the needs of their existing customers.
The core work life program offerings currently include phone, Web, and on-site support for child and elder care referral, school-age education referral, convenience/concierge services, and homework assistance. All programs are customizable to each organization’s needs.
